Buster Williams' "Something More"
featuring
Patrice Rushen, Stefon Harris, and Lenny White

One of jazz’s senior statesmen on the string bass, Buster Williams has
had a career that is as big as The Big Apple. Dating back to the
late 50’s, Buster has performed and recorded with a Who’s Who of jazz
giants including Jimmy Heath, Sonny Stitt, Betty Carter, Sarah Vaughan,
Nance Wilson, The Jazz Crusaders, Miles Davis, Kenny Barron, Larry
Coryell, Herbie Hancock, McCoy Tyner, Lee Morgan, Cedar Walton, Dr.
Billy Taylor, Wynton Marsalis, and on and on.
With 100’s of recordings, films, TV shows, and a Grammy to his credit,
Buster’s solid, dark tone and highly refined technique has been heard
and is recognized by millions.
Since the inception of Buster’s own group in 1990 called “Something
More”, the group has had numerous tours throughout the U.S., Europe,
Russia, Japan and Australia.
When it came time for
Williams' solo, the man reminded listeners why he holds an esteemed
position among the world's most accomplished jazz bassists. The
infallibility of his pitch, the sureness of his time, the alacrity of
his technique and the high melodicism of even his staccato passages
must be the envy of bass players everywhere.”

Patrice
Rushen
A classically trained pianist, Patrice Rushen has spent a lifetime
honing the skills which make her one of the music industry's most
versatile and sought after artists. In 1998, Rushen was again honored
by the music industry when her current adult-contemporary CD,
Signature, received a Grammy nomination, as well as, an NAACP Image
Award nomination, and landed in the top ten of the adult-contemporary
jazz charts. The critically-lauded, chart-topping style she championed
in the '70's and '80's -- a jazz R&B/pop fusion that combined
melodic accessibility with instrumental prowess not only became her
signature style but continues to be a mainstay of popular radio.
Considered one of the world's top jazz pianists, Rushen has performed
with and produced for such esteemed artists as Stevie Wonder, Herbie
Hancock, Prince, Lionell Hampton, Carlos Santana, Boys II Men, George
Benson, Jean Luc Ponty, Tom Jones, Nancy Wilson, Michael Jackson,
Dianne Reeves, Sheena Easton, Stanley Turentine, Joshua Redman and on
and on.

To Exhale, Sandra Bernhardt's Without You I'm Nothing, and Robert

Truly a great artist of our time, Patrice Rushen continues to make
amazing contributions to music, film, and television, as well as
transcend her audiences with her spectacular piano artistry.
